Well now that I have a couple of spare minutes to actually write again, I want to write about some of my goals...short term & long term, highly achievable & some more difficultly attainable ones. Heeeeere we go!
Graduating college. My goal and current plan is to graduate in June 2013 from Cal Poly with my BS in Agricultural Business. It's quite attainable since I have the exact number of units to take still to fill up 3 quarters. HOWEVER, I was in a class this quarter that required a 70% average on all tests. Unfortunately, I did not fulfill this requirement before the final this morning, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes that I got a good enough grade on the final to bring my average above a 70%. If that wasn't a constraint, I would have a solid B...probably all thanks to by 16,000% of extra credit!
Improving my equitation and knowledge of horses before the next show season starts. I'd say I'm pretty well versed in horse talk, but I do hunger to learn more about horses in general, and riding styles and techniques. I want to become a better and more confident rider (although I did receive the "Most Improved Confidence" award from my equestrian team captains! :) There are definitely still times when I get scarred of horses...usually it's a healthy fear of the magnificent beasts! I plan to practice over summer every chance I get to perfect my equitation to compete and take at least one first place in my class during next show season, and ultimately be able to go to semi-finals to represent Cal Poly next March. Another pretty attainable goal, if I make the effort to work for it, which I will!
Pay off all my credit card debt, if not begin to pay off the debt I owe to my parents over this summer. I'll be working close to 50 hours a week so that shouldn't be a problem (I don't owe all that much). I want to save up money also to help pay for the things I'll need to pay for once I move back down to SLO in September. I want to be able to go out with my family and occasionally pay for dinner or the movies, and things like that! I'm ready to be semi-independent, at least for the summer.
And now on to longer term goals!
In 5 years, I see myself hopefully married (if the right man has entered my life at that point) and living somewhere close to my parents and hopefully my brother will live somewhere close-ish as well. I have such a tight relationship with my family and I don't think I could ever live too far away from them. In 5 years I'll be 27, so probably won't want to have any kids by then, but who knows! Who knows about any of these plans...they're bound to change from one day to the next!
In 10 years, I'll be 32, so I'd like to have children by then...either 2 or 3, maybe 4, but at least 2! I want to be able to stay at home and raise them until they are going to school all day, and then maybe re-enter the work force as a private food safety consultant. Maybe. Who knows.
I will let the wind and waves of life carry me where they may.
